Frequently asked questions

Bonfires are not permitted on Destin beaches (Okaloosa County). If you are staying in Destin, your closest permitted options are just minutes away in Walton County, including Miramar Beach at 907 Scenic Gulf Drive and locations along Scenic 30A.

We offer private, permitted beach bonfire experiences near Destin, in Miramar Beach, and along Scenic Highway 30A at approved Walton County beach access locations.

As soon as you know your travel dates, you should book your beach bonfire. Availability is limited, and demand for popular dates is high even before Walton County permits are released.

Bonfire permits become available about 14 days before the event date and are issued on a first-come basis. Booking early places you in our queue so we can secure a permit as soon as they are released. Waiting to book until the permit window opens, or booking late in the process, can significantly reduce availability.

If a beach bonfire is part of your trip plans, booking early is the best way to ensure we can host your event.

Yes. Your booking includes the required bonfire permitting process for approved Walton County locations and a fully managed setup.

If weather conditions or a county-issued burn ban make it unsafe or not permitted to host a beach bonfire, we will work with you to explore the best available alternative. In cases where rescheduling is possible, a new permit is required, as bonfire permits are issued by the fire department and are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Because availability and permits are limited, rescheduling options may be affected by timing and beach access capacity. Booking early provides the greatest flexibility if adjustments are needed.

Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy during your beach bonfire. Please note that glass containers are not permitted on the beach, and all food and beverages must comply with local beach regulations. Our team can share guidance during booking if you have questions.

If you’re planning to have more than 29 guests at your beach bonfire, you will need to comply with special event permit requirements set forth by Walton County. Don’t worry, we’re here to help you navigate through the process. Simply let us know, and we’ll walk you through the steps to ensure your beach bonfire is compliant and enjoyable for everyone.
