Rules of the Road (The Laws)
LSVs, or Low-Speed Vehicles, comply with Florida State DMV regulations and are equipped with additional safety features such as seatbelts, headlights, turn signals, reflex reflectors, and side mirrors. These features allow LSVs to be fully street legal and operate on public roads with speed limits of 35mph or less. LSVs are also required to carry registration and license plates. In contrast, golf carts that are not LSVs, are not street legal and are only permitted to operate on private roads within private communities. These golf carts often lack the necessary safety features required for street-legal operation.
You can drive on any public road with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less unless otherwise posted by local ordinances or private communities.
No. It is strictly prohibited to drive an LSV on US Highway 98. However, you may cross it at signaled four way intersections.
No. Because LSVs are registered motor vehicles, it is illegal to drive them on sidewalks, grass, or bike paths.
All front seat passengers of any age and all passengers under the age of 18 must wear a seatbelt. Each passenger must have their own dedicated seat and seatbelt. Florida law also requires all children age 5 and under to be secured in a car seat or booster seat. You can view the full safety requirements at the Walton County Sheriff LSV page.
All drivers must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver license, and have proof of active auto insurance.
Rental Process and Pickup
We offer free delivery and pickup for all rentals in Destin, Miramar Beach and along 30A.
For both 6-seater and 8-seater electric models, the key is stored in a secure lockbox located under the front driver side seat. Simply lift the seat using the armrest to access the box. Your unique code will be provided prior to your rental start time.
For electric models, please ensure the cart is fully charged and place the key back in the lockbox. For gas models, place the key back in the lockbox. You do not need to fill the gas tank prior to us picking it up.
Guests who cancel more than 3 weeks before their start date receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 1 and 3 weeks prior receive a 50 percent refund. Cancellations made within 1 week of the start date are not eligible for refunds or credits. All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
The renter is solely responsible for any parking citations, or traffic violations incurred during the rental period. You may remit payment for these directly to the issuing authority. If we receive a citation on your behalf and are required to process the payment, you will be charged the full amount of the citation plus a $35 administrative fee.

Treat an LSV accident exactly like a car accident. First, call 911 immediately and stay at the scene until law enforcement arrives. It is essential to obtain a formal police report for insurance purposes. Do not admit fault at the scene. Once you have contacted the authorities, please text our team at 850-621-3277 to notify us of the situation.
Electric LSVs: Charging and Range
You can charge the vehicle by plugging it into any standard 110V household outlet. Please use a dedicated outlet with nothing else running on the same circuit to ensure a consistent and safe charge.
No. We provide an extension cord with every electric rental to ensure you can easily reach an outlet at your property.
We recommend plugging the vehicle in overnight or whenever it is not in use. This ensures you have a full battery for your next beach run.
Gas LSVs: Operation and Fuel
If you are renting a gas powered LSV, please use 87 Unleaded gasoline. The gas tank is located on the drivers side, directly under the second row of seating. To access it, simply lift the seat using the armrest.
