There will be two more regional beach accesses to be constructed and completed in Miramar Beach and Seagrove Beach in 2020.

Fort Panic Regional Access is ADA accessible, has parking, restrooms, and lifeguards during peak season. Located on Scenic 30A about two miles west of the Scenic 393 intersection at Gulf Place. Just across Scenic 30A lie Lake Allen and Oyster Lake, two of SoWal’s rare coastal dune lakes.

Booking & Setup

We’ll have your bonfire ready 30 minutes before go-time. Got a specific schedule? We’re happy to work with it. Bonfires end by 11:30 PM so we can clean up and keep our beaches pristine for the next sunny day.

Permits

We secure all necessary permits for you through Walton County and South Walton Fire District. Permits are limited and released within two weeks of your event. Flexible dates and backup locations help secure your ideal setup.

Reschedule

We understand that schedules can change unexpectedly. If you need to reschedule your beach bonfire, we’ll work with you to find a new date that works for both of us, subject to our availability and permit availability. We recommend planning ahead to secure your preferred date and location, as our bookings tend to fill up quickly.

Please keep in mind that permit availability is limited, and access availability is not guaranteed. Should you need to reschedule, a new permit will need to be purchased, as permits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Inclement Weather / County Issued Burn Bans

We realize that rescheduling can be a hassle, so we’ll do our best to be flexible and accommodating to your needs. If rescheduling is necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll work with you to find a new date that suits you best. Please note that obtaining a new permit is required, as permits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Turtle Nests

Sea turtle protection is important, and from May to October, nesting season may impact beach access.

If a nest blocks your reserved access point, we’ll work with the county to shift your permit or relocate your bonfire. While a $125 re-permitting fee may apply, we always try to avoid extra costs for you.

Refunds aren’t issued for bonfire moves due to turtle nests — but rest assured, we’ll handle the details and make your night just as unforgettable.

Questions about turtle season? Contact us or text/call 850-621-3277.

Refunds / Cancellations

We get it — plans can change. Here’s how we keep things fair and flexible:

  • Full Refund: Cancel 14+ days before your bonfire, and you’ll receive a full refund.

  • Partial Refund: Cancel 1–13 days prior, and we’ll refund 50% or issue a full credit (minus the $125 permit fee).

  • Same-Day: Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable, but we’ll do our best to help you reschedule if possible.

Weather, burn bans, and other unexpected issues may require changes. If that happens, we’ll reach out to reschedule or offer a refund (minus the permit fee if already issued).

Need to make changes? Contact us here or text/call 850-621-3277 — we’re here to help!

Private Accesses

Hosting your bonfire on private beachfront property? We charge a $50 convenience fee for the extra time and logistics. Our team follows all county regulations, including keeping flames 50 feet from dunes.

If erosion prevents setup at your private location, we’ll help secure the nearest public access. A new permit may be required, and if you choose not to move forward, we can offer a 50% refund.

Special Events Permit

If your group has 30 or more people, Walton County requires a Special Event Permit. Fees range from $250–$1,000 depending on group size, and permits are non-refundable.

Only one is issued per beach access per night — so early booking is key. If your group grows after booking, we’ll invoice for the permit and update your reservation. Failure to notify us of large group size may result in cancellation without refund.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, you can absolutely bring your own food and drinks to the beach bonfire! However, please keep in mind that glass containers are not allowed, and any leftover items must be removed at the end of the bonfire. We kindly ask that you place all trash in the appropriate containers provided at the beach.

If you’re unsure of where you can have your beach bonfire, no worries! Check out the Beach Bonfire Service Area on our website to view the available beaches. If you’re still unsure which beach is closest to you, don’t hesitate to ask us for help. We are here to assist you and make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

The start time for your beach bonfire is completely up to you! Some people prefer to begin their bonfire just before sunset to enjoy the beautiful colors of the sky as the sun sets, while others prefer to wait until it’s completely dark to get the full effect of the fire. To check the sunset time in your area, simply click here. Keep in mind that it typically gets dark about an hour after sunset.

We ask customers to choose their top three location choices when booking a beach bonfire because there are limited permits available at each location. If we cannot obtain a permit at your first choice, we will automatically attempt to secure a permit at your next preferred location. This helps us to ensure that you get the best location possible for your beach bonfire.

If you’re planning to have more than 29 guests at your beach bonfire, you will need to comply with special event permit requirements set forth by Walton County. Don’t worry, we’re here to help you navigate through the process. Simply let us know, and we’ll walk you through the steps to ensure your beach bonfire is compliant and enjoyable for everyone.
